great product |
I bought this edition of linux two weeks back and im very pleased. Upon installation all my hardware was detected automatically without the need to install any drivers and the desktop has the same feel as windows. Also The package comes with more software than you will ever need, but there is more than enough software online if you are looking for more specific. Some people may take a bit of time to adjust to the interface as some software might not be where you would expect after years of using windows but its well worth that little bit of patience. Overall its faster, more stable, more sophisticated, easier to use and configure and has more features than windows. Oh did I mention its free to download if you would prefer? enough said What im really impressed about is that it already has support for amd64 processor which is great as I will be upgrading soon (hopefully) Obviously I highly recommend it but I wouldnt mind seeing what the other linux distributions have to offer

Just not up to the job |

Totally agree with the first two reviews. This book is not in itself sufficiently detailed as to allows you to pass the 70-216 exam. A very disappointing book which covers all of the basic concepts, but does not expand on them in any of the depth that will be required.

Not only does this book contain errors... |
|
Not only does this book contain errors but also it lacks substantial detail. The exam (and I have passed it) covers details not contained in the book at all. Do not use this book as your main preparation. Good layout and chapter headings are no substitute for accuracy, detail and depth. As exam prep it is inadequate. I passed the exam thanks to 5yrs of hands on IT not this product. Having used self-study guides in the past, I can say that Microsoft and MSPress have let me down with this product. Missed opportunity...
